Excellent post my freind. If you have a job you pay for those that don't want to work. They want what you reap. The only people I feel sorry for are those who try and just can't find a job because the economy is so bad. The good news is those people will eventually make it.

In spite of some power plant electricity coming from coal, the electric car is so much more efficient that the pollution from the power plant to charge it up is considerably less than that from a combustion engine in the car. Also, not all power plants are coal-fired. Some are hydro-electric. Moreover, the electricity doesn't have to come from a power plant. Home rooftop solar panels are cost effective enough to make it worth paying for enough of those to charge up an electric car instead of buying fuel for the life of your car. As far as your home electric bill, if you don't have as much overkill in panels as I have, the system pays for itself in about 10 years, and everything after that is free. The excess power I put into the grid represents a reduction in the fuel burned in the power plant to run somebody else's house. This partially offsets the carbon footprint of my gasoline powered cars while I wait for the Tesla sedan. The electric company credits my excess power production against my consumption at night time and on dark, overcast days, but they don't actually pay for my excess beyond that, so it will take longer than 10 years for my overkill system to pay for itself, unless my power use goes up or rates go up.
